College Admissions Meeting Feb. 21

Navigating the system

Faye Kunce, a Grace Church parishioner and Director of College Admission Consulting for Focus on Learning, will be offering a free college admissions seminar for Grace Church students and their parents on Saturday, February 21, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. in the parish hall.  The seminar will introduce students and their parents to the college search and application process.  The following subjects will be discussed:

·   General admissions requirements

·   Narrowing choices

·   Financial aid/scholarships

·   College visits

·   Resume-building suggestions

·   PSAT/ACT/SAT exams

·   Admissions essays

·   Brief introduction to select/highly select colleges

·   Brief introduction to colleges for LD/ADD/ADHD students

·   Admissions timeline

      It is highly recommended that eighth grade through eleventh grade students attend this seminar along with their parents.  As an information packet and a hand-out of the power point presentation will be provided, please call the church office or sign the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board if you plan to attend.
