Grape picking at a local vineyard. Monies raised will go toward helping to alleviate hunger in the Jefferson City community.

Have you ever thought about driving to one of Missouri's wineries, spreading a blanket on the gass, listening to live music and sipping wine?

It is October, so how about picking the grapes that make the wine?   Now is your chance, minus the music and the sipping.  The Community Ministry Committee invites you to come pick grapes this Saturday, October 18, anytime after 8 a.m. (until about 3 p.m.) at the vineyard of Neal and Ann Jones.  Monies raised (we get paid by the pound) will go toward helping to alleviate hunger in the Jefferson City community.

Best to come in the morning, return to town for refreshing at the concession stand at Madison and High streets offered by Grace youth, then unwind at church at 2 p.m. to the melodious music of Robert and Charlene Mitchell, several Harbisons, the women's trio of Karen Winn, Marie Duggan and Susan Lissant among others.

Directions: route B to route M in Wardsville. Turn left onto route M.  Go 2 1/2 miles.  Turn right on Lake Road.  Go 1.5 miles to gravel road on right.  There is a red brick house and a white rail fence.  Bounce up and down the gravel road (keep going straight) for .6 miles and you are there!

Please let Jeanie Bryant, 526-9724, if you plan to participate.  Or, call DJ Nash, 636-8558.  If you are interested in carpooling or caravaning, leaving the church parking lot at 8:30 a.m., please let Jeanie know.

NOTE:  Bring gloves, clippers, hats and sun screen.

Cheers!
