New Vestry Members, Alternate Delegate Elected
Annual Parish Meeting Held
The following people were elected to the vestry at this morning's Annual Parish Meeting: Paula Bone, Matt Krause, Mike Reid and Jerry Sill. Elected as Alternate Convention Delegate was Daphne Hedges.
Reverend Joan Yetter appointed the following people to leadership positions:
Robyn Burnett, Senior Warden, for a second year; Roberta Gray, Altar Guild leader; Prince Thomas, Head Usher; Cathy Libey, co-Acolyte Leader (other co-leader position vacant at this time).
Reports were presented by Senior Warden Robyn Burnett, who gave thanks to everyone who has helped Grace Church be a vibrant community, no matter what their level of service and encouraged everyone to use the church website to find out what's going on at Grace, letting website coordinators Julie Harker and Ken Leubbering know of news and events; by out-going Treasurer Harry Richter on the 2007 and the previous years' budget and the need for increased giving; by out-going Junior Warden Steve Hall on property improvements and still-needed repairs; by Capital Campaign co-leader Mary Russell on the progress of the search for a new rector (and there IS progress!); and, Reverend Joan on the importance of the Capital Campaign and the journey we are on to fullfil our desires for our church building, ministries, our people and our direction.
A gift of thanks (including a family getaway) was presented to out-going Junior Warden Steve Hall and his wife Jamie for the gift of Steve's time and dedication to the church and the sacrifices he and Jamie have made for the building maintenance and repair needs of our church.
Reverend Joan closed the meeting with this prayer:
Dear Lord,
Let us be mindful of all given to us. Let us remember this wonderful world is yours, which you made: The majesty of your mountains, the beauty and serenity of your valleys and forests, the grandeur of your waters. Let us remember also the wonder of and amazement of this beautiful space; how we are but stewards of your earth and our humble church home.
AMEN.
