Annual Parish Meeting

Sunday, January 25th, 2009, 10:30 a.m.

The annual meeting of Grace Church will be at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 25, 2009 (after a single worship service at 9:30 a.m.)  Adult forum will not be held, but there will be Sunday School for the youth (during the annual meeting after the church service).

      The annual meeting affords an opportunity for the members of the parish to review the activities of the local church over the past year, to discuss plans for the coming year, and to review the finances of the church.  Observations and questions are welcomed.

      This is also the time at which new members are elected to the Vestry and the delegates to the diocesan convention are elected.  Four members will be elected to three-year terms (class of 2012) on the Vestry.  The following parishioners have been nominated to serve on the Vestry:

·   Jeanie Bryant, chair of the Community Ministry Committee and adjunct member of the altar guild

·   Daphne Hedges, a Prayer Shawl Minister and member of the Wednesday Bible study group. She serves at both the 8 o’clock service and the mid-week Eucharist

·   Ted Koenig, a member of the Property Committee

·   Karen Winn, a member of the choir and the Finance Committee

Convention delegate nominee for three years is Alice Bernard-Jones.  Other delegates are Jeanie Bryant and Lisa Fox.  George Hartsfield is the nominee for convention delegate alternate.

Nominations will also be accepted from the floor.

Newly elected Vestry persons will join Vestry members Paula Bone, Matt Krause, Mike Reid, and Jerry Sill (class of 2010) and Linton Bartlett, Mary Lee, Vicki Myers, and Turner Tyson (class of 2011).  Retiring Vestry members are Chris Crouse, John Kerr, DJ Nash, and Sylvia Thomas

Please bring your favorite healthy, or not so healthy, treats to share during the meeting.  Coffee, tea, and juice will be provided.
