"Time and Talent" Pledge Drive

Grace responds to the 'time and talent' pledge drive

The recently completed “Time and Talent” pledge drive was a justifiable cause for celebration at the October stewardship dinner.  To date, 145 Grace parishioners have completed pledge forms.  The information gathered will be of tremendous use to those who lead the various Grace Church ministry and mission teams.  The outpouring of pledges will make possible increased ministry to our own congregation and our community.  People responded to the call to meet our on-going needs.  For example, 20 individuals pledged to be Sunday offering counters, 18 pledged to help with Godly Play, 22 pledged to help with clean-up days and 43 pledged to serve as lectors.  Pastoral care ministries were not forgotten, either, with 12 people indicating they would like to make home visits to those in need, while 15 individuals agreed to serve as links in an intercessory prayer chain, and 14 pledged to perform chores for those with particular needs.  In the area of community ministry, 19 individuals signed up to help at the Samaritan Center, 8 pledged to work on our 2009 homeless shelter playground construction project for the Salvation Army, and 11 pledged to help prepare and serve meals at the shelter.

All who completed pledges can be certain that they will be contacted by ministry leaders as they organize efforts for 2009.  For any of you who have not yet submitted your pledge forms, it is not too late to do so.  If you need copies for anyone in your household, please contact the church office and request adult, youth, or children’s forms as needed.
