Coat Giveaway Just in Time

Thank you, Grace Church, for your generous donations to the winter coat drive.  The Salvation Army giveaway on November. 9 ensured the coats will be utilized when winter arrives.

Now for some trivia; Who’s heard of Coordinated Universal Time?  Well according to timeanddate.com the winter solstice will occur at 05:30 (or 5:30am) Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) on December 22, 2011.  The date of the solstice varies from December 20 to December 23 depending on the year in the Gregorian calendar.

I am sure we warmed the hearts and bodies of many deserving residents.  If you recall, Ken Luebbering had enlisted the help of several downtown churches for this second annual coat drive including First Presbyterian Church, First United Methodist Church, and First Christian Church.  Thank you Ken for coordinating this event.
