Prayer Shawl Ministry

      We are very happy to announce that we have given away nearly 900 shawls and blankets since beginning this ministry 4½ years ago.  We hope that we have helped someone in your life know the power of God’s love by receiving a shawl or blanket.  We continue to keep our fingers “smoking” to meet the demands of this ministry, and we appreciate the support of everyone in this wonderful congregation.

      If you haven’t been present for any of our blessings, here is the prayer that Shariya prays over each shawl and blanket that is made:

May God's grace be upon these garments, warming, comforting, enfolding and embracing.  May these mantles be a safe haven . . . a sacred place of security and well-being . . . sustaining and embracing in good times as well as difficult ones.  May the ones who receive these garments, be cradled in hope, kept in joy, graced with peace, and wrapped in love.  Blessed be.  Amen.
