SEENEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND
A recent gift has been made to the Dr. James H. Seeney and Ardis Elaine Seeney Memorial Scholarship Fund. At a meeting of the Lincoln University High School Alumni Association in Jefferson City, Stan Hawkins, treasurer of the association, presented a check to Kenneth Seeney. Kenny then presented the check to Grace Episcopal Church to be deposited in the Seeney Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The Seeney Memorial Scholarship Fund is a fund established in memory of the Seeneys to grant scholarships to Lincoln University students who major in education.
In 1972, Lincoln University High School closed its doors, but the alumni association remained active and retained resources and monies. Kenneth Seeney, Charles Seeney, James Seeney, Jr, and Patricia (Seeney) Lawson are graduates of Lincoln University High School. Dr. Seeney served as principal of the high school from 1951 to 1961 and won several state championships as coach of the basketball and track teams. Grace Church parishioners Robert Mitchell and William Brooks were faculty members at Lincoln University High School.
