Valentine's Day Gifts

The families with young children group had a very successful event on Saturday, February 13.  We had 17 children and their assorted parents and grandparents present.  The children put a lot of creative energy into making Valentines and bookmarks that we then delivered to Adam’s Street Place Nursing Home’s residents along with lovely pink and red carnations.  The children were sweet and enthusiastic at their task of warming the hearts of our new friends.  One little boy remarked when it was time to go, “This is the best day of my life. I want to stay and hand out more stuff.”  Another child noted on his way back to the church, “That was a lot ‘funner’ than I thought it would be.  We made people happy!”  We ended the morning with a time of fellowship, play, and pizza.
