Youth Adopt Two Families at Christmas
The youth Sunday School classes adopted two Salvation Army families for Christmas. About ten youth group members went shopping after church on December 13th with Suzanne Richter and Debbie Crossnoe. Suzanne reported that the shoppers were good bargain hunters, but were also thoughtful about their choices for each person they were buying for. They bought toys, clothes, shoes, household items and more. The Grace prayer shawl ministry added knitted items to the purchased gifts. The shopping crew had a good time, but more importantly, their generous contributions of time and energy will help two families with few resources have nice gifts for Christmas – and will send a message that people care about them. Shopping and wrapping gifts for six people in a single afternoon is a lot of work – thanks so much to everyone who participated in this mission venture! Thanks, too, to those who contributed money to help support the project.
