January Movie Night
Nine members of the youth group watched the classic movie To Kill a Mockingbird, followed by a short discussion about the movie and race relations in America in the 1930s.
Youth Adopt Heifer’s Sierra Leone Project
Last year the Grace youth group raised more than $300 for Heifer International, but had not designated the money for any particular project. At our January planning meeting, the youth group decided to use the money to support Heifer’s new project in Sierra Leone. In addition, half of the proceeds from our concession stand at the Kids’ Fest in June this year will be set aside for the project as well as some portion of future fundraising activities. We may also take on specific fundraisers for this project from time-to-time.
Last year the American Institute of Philanthropy recognized Heifer International as one of its top-rated charities based on its financial efficiency and accountability.
